Living room views show how extensive millwork of Inch-thick Honduras mahogany transformed a stark background into one suggestive of a drawing room to complement classic Italian furnishings by Bellini, Magistretti and the Castiglionis coupled with a traditional rug and French occasional table. The fireplace elevation is floor-to-ceiling granite flanked by mahogany pilasters; the 12-in. crown molding incorporates wood-fronted ductwork. The painting is by Sid Solomon; glass pieces are by Baccarat, Barbini and Venini, the lacquered and mother-of-pearl box is a Japanese antique. The Oriental rug visible in the foyer was purchased in Milan.
