AS THE DIRECTOR of a Florida college art museum, I view hundreds of works of art by hundreds of visual artists each year, yet only a handful make a strong impression on me. Rosemary Gillett is one of those artists. I've been fortunate enough to see Rosemary's talents unfold, and her latest body of work, "The Rake Series," is particularly striking. These spirited works clearly demonstrate that her visual language is original, exciting, and bold. Because of an uncanny ability to pour her joy in life and love of Italy onto her canvases, I predict great things for this fine artist.
