The Eye of the Soul

In 1996, while a fellow at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, in association with French artist Benar Venet, Rosemary Gillett experimented with ways to express energy through gesture. Using an enormous brush to layer the pigment thickly on the canvas, she swept the surface, revealing the swirling currents underneath.
